I had Westin bars put on my '03 3500 and I think they are bolted into where the cab originally bolts to the frame. They supply a longer bolt that replaces the original.<br>BTW, I had them sprayed with black Rhino Lining with heavy drop design and they came out great and wearing like iron!

lgjhn - Any chance you've got photos of those mounts? Sounds like it's what I want to do, just looking for ideas on the bracketry. I like the Rhino Lining idea, too. Bet it provides great foot traction and is tough as nails! PM or email me at tobyw2000@yahoo.com if you've got digital photos. Thanks!!

I have dealer installed nerfs on mine, they are the sqeekiest rattle-ist, noisy-ist things ive ever heard, I have been back to the dealer 3 times for them to tighten them. 1st time they told me they forgot to put washers on the mount bolts, so what are their 2 other excuses. Anyhow i am gonna weld them puppies up in there this weekend, good god how hard is it to get things done right!

got the factory steps have not installed them yet but the instruction are really bad and drilling is required which im not to happy about but its the look i like check my web page for a few picks. hopefully there will be no squeeking i dont want to have to weld them to the cab. by the way the manufacturer does not recomend welding to the frame

I just put Putco &quot;Boss Bars&quot; on my 03 2500 QC 8). I really like the way they look, and so far they are as solid as a rock. They are stainless, so rusting is not an issue... they are also made from 4&quot; tube which really provides alot of heft, yet they don't diminish the clearance that much. They are pricey (600 clams from MissTruck.com) Installation was a piece of cake.
