I am in process of tearing the dash apart to fix the heater and do some sound deadening on the firewall. Its pretty well torn down and I can't see anything that would resemble that.

You're assuming it came from your truck. It's possible it was left by a previous owner of the truck and slid up under something. When you started taking things apart, it slid back out. I've found all sorts of weird stuff over the years in cars and trucks I've bought. Half of my tool box stuff came out of cars I stripped at the salvage yard I used to run.

I've had 2 of these truck interiors apart and never saw that. Nice truck by the way, Looks just like something i want to do (ramcharger conversion). I like the rims, they fit the truck well. As for that piece i don't understand the 3 bolt holes, doesn't seem right. Probably just junk ;-)

I've had several of these trucks interiors apart and never seen that. As for the banks power pack, my '93 had the banks kit on it when I got it, and it ran pretty good. Although it wasn't worth the money that banks wanted for it. A PS IC, some custon IC tubes, a BHAF in an old smokey mount, 4" exhaust, and a tweaked pump and you are ahead of the banks for $1K+ less money.

Thanks for all replies will not worry about the part.....just weird place to find that as I have removed the carpeting and insulated and recovered it when I replaced the seats.....maybe when they put new tires on the guy driving it in and out of the garage dropped it....
only diesel I have owned so have nothing to compare banks to seems okay.....ran much better in summer, not sure if it is winter fuel or some other problem....
