IAT sensor

I was reading about checking the intake sensor on the board. Mine was a little bit dingy but not bad, so i cleaned it up. I checked the resistance across the two prongs on it and got 8,000 ohms. And I also got 5 volts at the harness feeding it.

Now i think that i read somewhere what the resistance should be at different temperatures, but can't remember where i found it. It was about 75* when i checked it. But the Haynes manual was telling me that i should be reading 12 volts at the IAT and only 5 at the MAP sensor. It didnt give me an ohm reading for it. And I was reading only 5 volts at each one. does that mean i have a problem or was that a misprint, b/c both get power from the PCM (or ECM) as i understand, so i would think it should be the same at both sensors, but the Haynes manual is telling me I have a problem.

Truck runs fine, I was just piddling seeing if i can get a couple more miles per gallon. I'm getting about 16 mpg by the way with 5spd, 4.10's and 35's.
