hydro boost or vac boost
My truck now has vac boost brakes but the booster is bad is it worth trying to change over to hydro boost brakes? or should I just replace what I have now?

If you have the time, money and ambition go hydroboost! Hydroboost rocks, I have had several old Chevy's with hydroboost, every truck should have come equipped with it. Some very light fabrication, a few bucks into the equipment, and a few hours time you'll have a nice setup. Go for it!

I have read many other threads on hydroboost conversion, I picked up a used hydroboost from a 1985 chevy one ton dually mainly for the cores and brackets. I found a 1994 chevy one ton aluminum master cylinder (RPO JB8 10,000 GVW) which has the proper end configuration, disc/drums, and brake ports to mate with the older hydroboost and dodge brake lines. $99 for new, no core at Autozone. The CTD master cylinder will not interface with the chevy hydroboost as the push rod hole is too deep.
PSC and AGR both reccomended their heavy duty pumps, I am also adding a milemarker hydraulic winch.
From what I have been able to research The light fabrication requires you shorten the brake pedal shaft by 3/4" or space out the chevy bracket with some 3/4" spacers. I am going to try this first to keep the hydro unit a bolt in.

Does any one have photo's of their hydroboost install and some details of what needs to be done ???? Also DEAN M HOW DID YOU DO THE PORSCHE PARKING BRAKE SET-UP. My parking brake gave out about a year ago and a pain to replace/repair. I suspect this is common fore these trucks. Thanks Augie Dog !!

Summit has a bolt-in kit for about $480 that supposedly fits a '90 to '93. Plumbing is NOT included.
