hydro boost unit

for better or worse I wont to install a hydro unit on my 95 to replace the vacuum booster. Does any one know if a unit off of a 98 work. I have found a complete unit. From the peddle to the hydro unit and all of the hoses. Seems I read that the 97 was the unit that would work? I have thought that I could use my power steering unit and use a tee to splice into the return. I had thought I could raise the pressure on the pump by changing the spring . ON a side note my brothers 98 truck had a problem with the steering and he pulled the pressure regulator out and removed the screen and stretched the spring. Steers great now.
I appreciate any help. Jim

I can buy a assembly off ebay. That is not a problem. I am not sure about the hydro unit as what is the easiest to do. There are several ideas. A unit off of a Chevy and master cylinder. A favorite among the first generation guys. I have found a 98 unit complete. But I think the 97 is a better match for my 95. Not sure yet. If you have any info that would be great. Thanks Jim

There was and I was trying to remember his name perhaps it was Jim Leonard or close to that that posted on net about the conversion. A real nice guy. HE had all of the part numbers etc. I have been searching but no luck so far. It may have been anougher web sight. Jim

http://www.stu-offroad.com/suspensio...e-pressure.htm Here is a way to check your brakes pressure. I am going to build some thing similar to this. I don't know if this will help anyone but there was some good information there . http://www.vancopbs.com/category_s/66.htm And here Similar to the unit used on the first generation trucks. Jim
