hydraulics issue ?
I've read the post(s) in this group on clutch / hydraulics none seem to point to my issue.
I have an 02 2500HD, 5.9 5 speed, 2 weeks ago I had the clutch replaced as it was bad slipping and chattering real bad under load and from normal start. Visual inspection showed the clutch was worn (work was done by a local shop).
Before taking the truck the clutch pedal acted strange, and still does on occasion. Basically when one pushes the clutch pedal to the floor if feels normal meaning pressure is there shifts ok ....., when releasing the clutch (this is the strange part) sometimes the pedal looses pressure, meaning you can not feel the pressure against the clutch as the pedal returns to it's normal position eventually you can feel the pressure catch up with the pedal. When this happens there is chattering as the truck begins to move.
Could this be hydraulics or the clutch job not done right ? Once engaged clutch seems to work fine.

Take it back to where you had the work done and let them take a look at it. It seems to me that there may be something wrong with the pressure plate!? Wild guess but the symptoms you describe need to be addressed and the shop is responsable for their installation.
