HX40 vs staying with the hybrid? worth changing?

I'm still dreaming and planning on twins for the 12v but in the mid term, just had a kid offer me his unused 191 DV's still in box, 4000 mile DD2's (he's selling his 12v), and a HX40 in need of TLC. $400. Im thinkin its a decent deal. but my question is since i pull is the HX40 worth rebuilding and changing to since i already have the hybrid. Im interested in everyones thoughts on if this is good setup or not worth throwing the money after.

Now i think i can send this thing in to one of the turbo performance shops High tech turbo or who ever and have them mod the thing up install a bigger fan. Correct?

Also my current hybrid setup is a HX35 with a 60mm fan. and 16cm N/WG exhaust housing. It pulls well. I have debated going to an 18.5 that i have access to. So far though EGT's stay relatively in check with a 180HP pump, you can see my sig, stock DV's and stock injectors that are getting loose. But plans are to be Jumping the injectors & DV's and that is going to demand more air to maintain controlled EGT's especially when pulling long grades, 20000lbs GVW on Donner pass ect.

What suggestions for exhaust housing sizes on the Hx40, wg or non. Should i have the HX40 built if so what fan should i have them machine the housing to take? what sizes have been used with success in rebuilds. Where would you all set the WG.

I would like to avoid too much trial and error on changing housings 3 or 4 times so if anybody out there is running a similar setups lets hear it.

Any other thoughts comments Concerns. I also i have not forgotten all the suggestions i have gotten in previous threads. But i always like asking these what if variations because they always seem to strike up great conversations and debates about the variable options and results surrounding existing setups being used. Details that you dont always hear about.

Thanks for the info always.
Dusty

Oh yeah BTW the NV5600 and T-case are going into a friends shop in june so the Forged Cummins might be back up and building a fire by this fall. Im really getting tired of not being able to wax High school kids and rice burners when they try to be jacka's on the road. I still havent managed to grow up entirely.

I just sent my stock HX40 to PDR for Piersification. It's got about 5 years on it, still pretty tight.

I'd say go for some wastegated exhaust housing. The advantages of having a wastegate are known and you'll get by with a smaller housing and therefore better spool with EGTs still in check. with the WG.
Maybe you can send the 40 to piers or somebody else to get a quickspooling wastegated 55/40 hybrid ?
For the boost setting I'd rely on the suggestion of the turbo builder- he'd shurely know where his turbo's sweet spot is.
