HX35 on 90' model - Is it possible? Need Suggestions

I am wanting to install an HX35 on my 1990 Non-Intercooled CTD. Has anybody ever done it and how much trouble am I facing with this project? If anybody has any suggestions it would be very helpful. Thanks - Eric

I did it on my early 91. I took the OEM crossover, and cut off about 1" from the turbo end. I then took the silicone hose and cut it to half its original length and put it back on the end of the cross-over. I got a 3-4" piece of (I think, it was almost 5 years ago now) 2-1/2" diameter silicon turbo hose and slipped it over the outlet of the HX35 (WD40 helps immensely), then clocked the impellar housing to the angle of the H1C. Slip the bigger hose over the little hose and tighten the clamps down and you're good to go. WHen slipping the hose over the outlet, you will think you are going to rip the hose, but just be careful and all will turn out well.

The way Im doing involved a little more work. I built my own crossover tube, kinda similar to the one in the sticky. Mine has a 1/2" flange and a 2.5" exhaust elbow welded to it for the intake horn, then I have a 45* 2.5" elbow welded to some straight tubing. Ill have a silicon coupler at the turbo outlet and between my 45* and my 90*. The only real difficult part will be flipping the intake plate so everything lines up right, and fabbing brackets to make everything mount good.
