hx-35 12cm or16cm housing
I have a 16cm and the 12cm housing for a hx-35 turbo.I was wondering if anyone had any input on witch one was better to use. I have a `93 ram 350 auto tranny,3.5 to 4in open exhaust, plannin on fuel pin and 3200 spring in the near future. Thanks for any input.

With the auto tranny in your truck I'd stick with the 16cm housing. Not much of a difference with the 12cm and 16cm on an auto truck in terms of spool up. Although if the 12cm is wastegated, it is a nice feature to have IMO.
Before I forget, do you have gauges? I wouldn't recommend tinkering with the fueling and turbo setup until you do.

I am actually in the process of making the same decision as you are. From the information that I have obtained from this forum, as well as other knowledgable people, I decided to go with the 12 cm housing. The general consensus is that it is the best for an engine with stock injectors and mild pump mods. One small problem to take into consideration is that a wastegated housing requires that the downpipe be moved back about an inch.

Get some injectors, gov spring, and fuel pin, run the 16cm2 housing, and try to find a good HX-35 cold side to use as well and you'll be pushing about ~340/~840 at the wheels
Here's my old '92 with a similar setup...

unless it all in the injectors i don't see a truck with those mods making 340/840 especially not an auto truck it just wouldn't make it to the ground. i ran 370/840 with pods, gov spring, fuel pin, HTT stage 3 (slightly larger than 35 wheel), AND water meth... i was at 310/725ish without water meth.

It depends on your intended use and desires. If you tow a lot with enhanced fuelling, and can live with a little lag, go for the 18. If you run aroudn empty, and/ or tow ight (under 10K), the 12 will be just fine. Run one of each for a month and make note of temps, boosts, etc, and stick with the one you like.
