HUMVEE replacement contenders announced
At least one has the Ford 6.7, another probably the old Navistar 6.4 (DT???). Not sure if any are Cummins powered but the BRV-O sounds like it has an interesting engine (6-cylinder, 3.2-liter, 300 hp and 500 ft-lbs).
I remember the first time I ever laid eyes on a HUMVEE. BT at Ft. Jackson, 1988. It crested a hill in front of me while we were marching out to the rifle range, and my first thought was "where are the differentials??". I spent my enlistment driving a CUCV though with the GM 6.2

Looks like the Eagle IV, based on the HUMVEE chassis might have a 5.9 Cummins:

(or at least the version they sold to the Swiss did)
..and the JLTV has some flavor of Cummins: http://www.army-technology.com/proje...-vehicle-jltv/

I would love one of these, I have to drive into Los Angeles alot and I would feel a bit safer when a banger pulls up next to me at the red light.
Actually I just want an old HMMWV and transplant a 6BT into it.
