You should clean the engine, then determine where it is coming from. Unless you hit something that would damage the oil pan, I doubt it would leak one day, but not before. More than likely, it is something else, and just looks like its coming from the pan. Oil runs downhill, and the pan is on the bottom. If you have oil anywhere above the pan, then you know that isn't culprit.

I agree with above, Clean everything as well as u can(plenty of bio degradable cleaners out there). If it isn't profuse enough to see happening Hit the local parts store and see if they have a leak tracer kit, usually some dye to add and a batt. powered black light, you'll find where it's originating from.Have you done anything recently, oil change perhaps?

Okay guys thanks for the responses. Haven't done anything to it just got the truck last week. Haven't hit anything theres no oil above the pan the only oil marks are from the back of the serpentine belt from going where the pan begins an picking up oil on the belt(would explain the little squeal too) picked up a gasket for 20 bucks needed an oil change too so i will keep updated tomorrow if it continues

Just pull the camshaft gear with the special puller. You'll need to heat it up to get it back on. I've done it both ways on a couple friends trucks, pulling just the gear saves about 8 hours and you don't risk dropping a tappet into a very bad place. Your pin is either out the hole you now have or dropped to the bottom of the case/oil pan. The pin is about 5/16" by 5/8" long give or take a few mm's. An unbelievable ***** in the armour of such a great engine.

Had this happen on a '97. Blew the whole top out of the case. I was on the road. Went to an auto parts, bought a couple packs of 5 minute J$B Weld. Used some plastic out of the dumpster to bridge gaps where I couldn't find thew pieces to fill them. Pasted that dude up with JB and waited 30n minutes for it to cure. Drove that truck another 100k and sold it to the next guy and as far as I know it's still the same way. If the piece is not a load bearing spot, glue it up and drive on. Jb Weld holds in high heat. we use it all the time to modify cooling ports on jeep head c onversions. Great stuff.
