I have the SLT cloth seats with power base adjustments but manual lumbar adjustment.
Like many others, I have always hated my Dodge truck's driver's seat. The passenger seat seems to be fine though.

It always felt like the lumbar in the lower back of the seat stuck out too far, even in the most retracted position. It always drove me nuts.

Using Dave Kelley's excellent tip section of his website , http://www.innertruck.com/learningcenter/ , about a month ago I removed the seat completely from the truck. The seat comes out very easily. 4 nuts and 1 wire connector. These seats weigh nothing which also tells me that they are not great quality. I added a 10 x 10 piece of carpet between the springs and the base of the seat.

Then I popped off the manual lumbar seat adjuster **** and slid up the seat cover and had a look. Simple little mechanism.
At that time I just disconnected it completely and re-installed the seat. Testing it out, the base was fine,
but with the lumbar disconnected the seat back had no support at all and it pretty much collapsed when I sat in it.

Took the seat back apart again last weekend. This time I measured the travel of the adjustment ****. It is approx. 1 inch.
I cut the lumbar support strap in the middle. It is similar but slightly different than the pics of the power lumbar strap on Dave's website.
I added 1 inch of space between the cut straps and then used 6 large cable ties to tie the 2 vertical supports back together.
I essentially lengthened the lumbar support strap by 1 inch.
Now when the lumbar adjustment is maxed out, it is at the lowest setting previously.
This lengthening of the lumbar support strap could also be done to the power lumbar, with a little more work.

Anyway, a week with the new seat. It is awesome. So much better. I have it adjusted about 2 turns from max which is less than the minimum setting previously. I now have a useful range of adjustment. I should have thought of this years ago!

My seats have been okay, but I like the carpet trick and think I'll use it the next time I play around on the truck. Great job on the write up!

on a seperate not, does anyone know how to take the cloth off so i can replace it? i got a big stain, and the dealer gave me a new seat.

I took my seat cover off my 06. It just unclips under the seat........pretty easy

I have the exact opposite problem to Steath's. I am looking for a way to add lumbar support to the passenger's seat. I had leather seat covers added when I purchased the truck, and am thinking about going to the shop that did the work to see if they can add extra foam and carpet at a reasonable price.

FWIW,Before I did my truck, I called a couple of shops to see what the seat work would cost and was quoted anywhere from "bring it in and Ill tell ya" to "125 bucks and a couple of hours to get it done"
