HTT Stainless turbos????

Anyone know when these will be available? I have yet to see any info on their website. I think I'll get a 62/13 that I can use for everyday driving and use it to make my own twin kit in the future with a BHT3B.

Do you have it installed yet? Is there a special downpipe needed or any other mods for install? How do you like it?

there is no special downpipe needed. They machine the back of the housing for your factory cast elbow.

Does that mean any of the exhaust brakes will hook to it?

If the factory elbow works an exhaust brake should if there is enough room.

Yes, from what I understand now the factory elbow is used. I e-mailed HTT and they told me they machine the back of turbo to 4 3/8" so your stock elbow goes right on for a "drop in" replacement.

I personally would go with a 62 -14, spoolup is good, and you wont cut yourself short later on, still a good top turbo in a twin setup

yes the factory elbo fits but the biggest pain is trying to get oil return bolts back in do yourself a favor pull oil return line and bolt it to the turbo on the shop table before installing obviously I learned the hard way after getting turbo in had to take back out 4 one measley bolt only getting 31psi on 6-gun and smarty stacked but pulls like hell

illdiesel,
I should be getting that same turbo this week I hope, do you have the normal or low drive pressure option? I hear low drive will flow more so I ordered that option.
31PSI sounds really low, I plan on studs too, but if I could be sure the pressure was only going to be 31PSI, I would put the money into my trany for now.

You know when I was talking to hightec they had never said anything about drive preasure so I will have to call and find out thanks 4 tip I would like to hear what kind of boost you are running I think I might have to look into my intercooler might have popped a plastic end but high boost #'s doesn't always mean more hp

Well HTT is waiting for parts, I just drove 400 miles, hoping to put this turbo in this week, may not happen. Guess I just need to wait a little longer.

I talked to HTT and not sure the low drive option will be good or not. I want something the wife will not mind driving and I like low end pull. Plus I tow a 7000lbs trailer up big hills.

Thumbs up HTTss 64/13cm !!!!!!!

Well, after testing the HTTss 62/13cm which is awsome for towing, I just installed the HTTss 64/13cm (golden nugget) Now this is another cool turbo. Lag is just a tad more then the 62 however, the top end is a screamer. Since I'm not going to race anymore, I wanted a turbo that I could get good daily driver performance and be able to pull my 12k 5th wheel. Well, the HTTss 62/13cm fit the bill. Cool running, good spool etc. However, HTT talked me into trying their ss 64/13cm for a little more performance and hopefully still be able to tow. Well, the 64/13cm is much more than I expected. This thing not only runs 100*+ cooler like the other SS turbos, it spools on the top end like a 66 !!!!! There is no surge issues at all with this turbo, it flat out rocks. To be honest, I haven't towed my 5th with it yet, however, if it performs just "ok" I'm keeping it on..... I would recommend this turbo to anyone with moderate upgrades ie., injectors, fuel boxes, fuel pumps, air intake etc., Moderate light towing as well. Heavy towing you would best be served with a HTTss 62/13 or budget minded HTT 62/12.
Heavy fueled, competition, twin, sled pulling etc. Pro street 66/16cm or maybe a HTTss 66/13cm???? Haven't tried that combination yet, but that maybe the altimate drag racing combination?
