HTT stage III

Well i have a 1993 D-350 and i am very interested in buying the HTT stage III kit. I have done the fuel pump mods, straight piped exhaust, and i made an intake kit with a k&n filter. I was just wondering if the stage III kit will give me noticeable increases or if i will have to get the 16 CM housing as well, or if the kit is just designed to handle more hp.

i have also heard there is alot mmore turbo noise from the kit, and i am getting sick of the loud barking type noise my truck gives off now.

Barking if you are talking about a sound when you let off the throttle fast is VERY VERY bad for your turbo... stop it, lol. The HTT stage 3 will help with that, it has the MWE. the sound you are hearing is the built up boost pressure forcing its way back out through the turbo, this puts a lot of strain on the shaft. the MWE slots allow the air to escape without hurting the turbo, it also makes the cool turbo noise... on to the question of HP. a turbo does not "add" horsepower, it allows it. the stage 3 will supply the motor with a higher volume of air at a lower temp than the stock compressor wheel, this allows you to burn fuel more efficiently and make more HP, clear as mud. in short the HTT stage 3 with a 16cm housing is a good overall upgrade with the bonus of some whistle.

ok thanks. the barking im talking about is the engine powering up. when i do let off the gas from high rpms i hear the nice turbo spooling down sound but its not as loud as it should be, haha.

so basically with the turbo upgrade, i will end up getting better more efficient horsepower in the future, if i buy a good set of injectors or something like that?

That's surging. Still bad, but not quite as bad as barking.
