HTT Pro-street 66 issue(rant)
Ok, so I've had this issue with the turbo from the day I installed it. Once I hit around 30psi, pressure is bled off in a hurry. Over the past few months I have adjusted wastegate until there is no more adjustment. I have also added a boost elbow. Intercooler boots and intercooler have been checked and rechecked. I have even gone as far as pressure checking the wastegate. Guess what, fails (won't hold beyond) between 28-30psi every time. So, am I wrong in thinking bad wastegate? Don't get me wrong, turbo is awesome up to 30psi, just not seeing full potential.
I contact HTT via email and explain everything, the response I get, "the sound you are hearing is the gauge leaking". Yeah ok. Hiss and huff are the same, right! Long story short, anyone having or had issues with wastegate on this particular turbo? How was HTT's customer service? Where can I get a replacement wastegate other than HTT? Maybe I can use this as an excuse to go to twins!

HTT's customer service is top notch. How long ago was the turbo purchased? I think they may have had a batch of bad actuators that affected some of the turbos with low boost conditions.

I bought my silver regular cab off a guy who tried the turbo and couldn't get it to hold boost...I thought there was a thread about some wastegate issues....as in the wastegate would bleed off before actuation. ks

It was purchased about 6-7 months ago. I have tried to get them to warranty or even send one on my dime. The last response I got was to send it in for them to pressure check. I can't afford to have the truck down. I'm military(on call 24hrs) and it is a daily driver.

That also sounds like my HTT. Gets to 30 then holds or falls ever so slowly. Its very reare for me to get above 32 lbs. I know of course boost is not everything because its flowing alot more air than the stocker. Its getting to the point to say screw pulling and just get twins to race with.

Bryan I had the same turbo and initially experienced the same thing
I was able to get it fixed and boost to 50 lbs + was no problem
the solution for me was a special boost elbow , I had tried a different type of boost elbow that helped make the boost better but still not quite 40lbs so got a hold of a special boost elbow from a contact I have at HTT and I put this boost elbow in and it fixed the problem , I also tightened down the actuator spring as far as it would go to apply more pressure , then the turbo worked great !
the housings are friekin huge , the 16 ss housing flows big time !
pm me and I would be glad to hook you up with the right boost elbow to make this turbo sing for ya !

They do flow huge amounts of air. Overall I am happy with it. I just want everything it can put out. Hey desertchecker, I sent you a PM about that elbow. It would be awesome to hit 50psi! This thing halls the mail now, I can only imagine!
