HP,egt & altitude

Looking for opinions. All of my mods are listed in sig line below. I usually run my truck at sea level with no heavy load. I have minimal smoke plenty of horsepower and reasonable EGT's.

I usually tow at altitude, 3 - 8000 ft. I won't mention sizes and weights so I don't get ragged on for being too heavy but I obviously have much more smoke, less HP and higher EGT's at this altitude. I would like to lower my EGT's at this altitude in order to maximize my driveabilty.

My thoughts are to back the cam plate off and find a happy medium between the two altiudes.

I am also considering a stage 1 water / meth injection system.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Don

what are your EGT's looking like at the high elevations? cruse and pulling up a hill? water/meth would help, but matching your turbo to fueling level would be better IMHO.

Going through hills on the freeways and Interstates are not much of a problem 800 - 1100 degrees.
My issues are with the smaller roads. To start with, the black smoke will ROLLLL from the truck. On and off the pedal on a regular basis I can easily hit 1300.

Enlighten me on turbo matching. I have upgraded the turbo for towing purposes. What might I be missing?

if you are rolling the smoke like that, then maybe an AFC adjustment would help with that and maybe the egt issure too. A bigger turbo like a 62/12 or 62/14 might should help with egt's, but will give you more turbo lag. running higher in the rpm range will help with the spool. just my thoughts. try the AFC or moving the fuel plate first.
