You have a vp44 on a stock 93?

There isn't an upgrade kit, the hot rod is a hybrid pump.

there probably is a "kit" that II and anyone else uses ... but good luck getting them to sell a kit to ya because they wouldn't get the money for the pump rebuild... monopoly my friend... haha

Nobody rebuilds vp44's but certified bosch shops such as Industrial Injection. The hot rod pump is a hybrid between the SO and HO pumps and maybe the electronics off the rv pump. They don't tell us much, but thats what I've heard.

The problem with the hot rod pumps is they can be poor mannered with erratic idle or what not. That and for the price difference for the hot rod upgrade you can buy a set of injectors. I run a II pump and it works great.

how do you guys with the II pump and the HRVP like them? I am planning on building a p-pumped engine at some point and swapping it out in my 99, I have a rebuilt VP on there now and still have a core, I was wondering if it is worth it to get a hot rod or II, buy the way what is a II? to use for one or 2 seasons, my power level with mach 6's was 572, and with nitrous 649. since we went to mach 8's and 200 shot of nitrous don't have dyno #'s from that but it is pretty nasty. do you think the new pumps would help any? the turbo was a sled puller 66, but switching to a auroa 5000, the tuning is a redline box with a drag comp.

II is Industrial Injection.

Why spend the money on a hot rod pump if youre p-pumping the truck?

just wanted to see if I could pick-up some pony's before the big project gets started, I have heard these pumps will make a 100 more HP with no box, but not much difference with the boxes on?

i see.

ive read they make a little less than a SO pump.

which confuses me since i though the HR pumps were a hybrid of the bigger plungers of the SO and the higher pressure of the HO...if you have a higher pressure coming through the same plunger size as an SO why wouldnt it make more than the stock SO??? maybe im confused with what makes it a hybrid. maybe due to some other x factor with pop off pressures, how the pressure builds up, and flowing that much fuel through a VP etc etc...???

the more experience the better...give it a shot and let us know.

You won't get a rebuild kit for the HRVP44, I just had mine COMPLETELY rebuilt by II and it is costly for the just the parts, let alone the labor involved and it needs to be calibrated.

I actually have to sell the pump to pay for the repair bill since I have an SO pump now anyway. I liked my hot rod pump, but I don't think I'll notice a difference running the redline and big sticks on a plain old SO pump.
