hello,, i just bought a 99 ram 2500 4x4 with the cummins ,, great truck,, i have a problem though,, cant get the horn to blow,, checked and changed fuses, horn relay also,, still no horn,, anybody got any clues,, thanks,,also tried to hot wire horns,, no beep

Horns could be shot they do quit working totally

mine died a slooooow death. sounded like an elderly goose. I bought a wolo bad boy and wired it up under there.

oh yea, there are 2 hots and 2 grounds just use one set.

make sure you have power at the horn,check for codes.

our '96 3500 has the same thing - no horn. The relay is clicking when you press the horn buttons, but no noise - AND I cannot find the horns on the truck, either. Looked all the usual places, front corners under and behind everything - no joy.

Anybody here that can tell me where the heck the horns are supposed to be? This truck is formerly a construction supervisor's rig, I'm wondering if they took the horns out!

Hello,

On my 97 the horns are located on the bracket that runs from the bumper to the frame on the drivers side (left side). This bracket runs at an angel from the frame out to the far left end of the bumper where it wraps around the fender.

mines been through so much mud it has killed the horn....almost. it sounds like some kid learning how to play the clarinet.

has anybody tried any of the big "train" style horns? are there any that don't require an air compressor?
