Hooked up a trailer-blew a bunch of stuff

I am not sure this is the right place to post this, but help is needed.

2003 Dodge Turbo Diesel, 4wd.

I bought a used trailer; it had a short in the wiring. Fixed it. I have not reconnected the trailer.

It blew the trailer package fuse (40 amp). I replaced the fuse; all the fuses in the box under the hood are good. Except some of the fuses are not getting power.

But now the speedometer doesn’t work
No back up lights
The A/C clutch won’t engage
The Air Bag light is stuck on
Parking brake light is stuck on
The ABS light is on.

A code reader gives the following errors.
P0633
Skim not programmed in PCM
Cooling Fan Control Circuit/Open low speed fan relay
P0489
P0500 No vehicle speed detected
xx Loss of ignition /run only

I believe there is some kind of fusible link blown somewhere, but I can not find it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Where was the short in lighting or brakes?

I am not 100% sure where the short was, I think it was in the lighting. My friend fixed it, and he isn't sure either.

One more thing.
The fuses 32 through 38 in the fuse panel are dead, no power to them.

Key on. I just discovered that fuse 32, 33, 34 has power when the headlights are on. 35, 36, 37, 38 do not.

You will probably need a good electrical tech but I had a problem with factory trailer wiring only on left turn signal. Seems the fuse Buss block was shorted apparently from factory. About $1100 later it was fixed. It was out of warranty. The block was about $800 by itself. Hope your problem is cheaper. This was on a 2003 5.9 HO Dually w/Auto trans.

Did you search at all(not trying to be a ), I know I have seen this issues, and a recommendation to install an aftermarket module to protect the stock unit if your trailer has a wiring issue.

I fixed the truck.

I replaced the ignition switch. I noted a badly discolored terminal on the connection (green wire) and the surrounding plastic was brown. I hooked the new ignition switch back up, and still had a problem. I found that someone (could have been me) had stuck the fuse from the #3 socket into the spare socket of the #2. So there was no power at the #3 fuse.

I am not sure when it happened, there were several people trying to figure it out.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I am going to look at the Modulite system.
