Go to Genos garage's web site. They sell a hose for cheap that screws on the schrader valve on one end and to the sending unit on the other. Im not sure of the part # but Ill see if I can find it.

All I did was take the schrader valve out. It's the same to you use to remove schrader valves from tires. You can buy one for about 3 bucks. Mine was like that for about 40,000 miles. It would still be like that if I didn't have the Air Dog.

The fitting size is -4 SAE.....has a 45* flare......some guys just use a -4 JIC or AN fitting which has a 37* flare. The JIC screws on fine and despite what others say, in this low pressure application, the 37* fitting seals just fine on the 45* SAE banjo bolt at the pump. Just remember to remove the valve core.

Well i am still having a problem, i bought a valve core remover and removed the valve, but that did not help me much, here is a pic of the problem i am having, the fitting that came with the gauge would fit if the shinny metal peice that is circled in red was not on the end of the schrader valve, this peices prevents the threads from catching and screwing on. What i need to do is remove this shinny metal peice so that the fitting will screw onto the schrader valve, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Hmm.....I don't see the problem? -4 SAE and -4 JIC hydraulic fittings will screw right on there, though the SAE with the correct 45* flare would be preferred.

The r-12 hose should fit on the shrader. It is the same as shrader valves on a/c units. Remove the shrader valve stem, and if possible, remove the piece in the hose that would press the vale stem. Be sure to leave the gasket in the end of the hose. Maybe this will give enough play so that it will fit. If all else fails get a tapped banjo, and go that route. On my 01 I hooked the fuel psi gauge to the bottom of the filter housing.

Ok thanks for the help, i think i have figured out my problem, the fitting that came with the gauge kit wont fit on the valve because the threading on the valve is a different size then the threading in the fitting that came in the kit. I asked the people were i got it and they said it should fit, that was why i was having trouble, but tonight i took the entire valve out and studied it and found what the problem was, thanks again for the help

Being that i I just aquired my truck, and became a member here, I decided to install a full complement of gauges. Instead of ordering the hose from Geno's, mainly because I'm impatient, I took the banjo bolt out of the VP and my fuel sender and went to NAPA. I had them make me a hose with the proper fittings. Still had to remove the valve stem from the Schrader though. Works pretty good!
