Home ground plate

What are you guys using to grind your own fuel plates? I was going to use my dremel, but wanted to make sure there wasn't a "proper" way to do it.

Also does anyone have a picture of what an #11 plate looks like? I don't want to pull mine just to look at it.

Thanks

Will

I used a dremel to do mine... Dug up an old thread started by Gunracer (search plate grinding) Basiclly the big thing is not to let it get hot and break the temper, and to make it as smooth as possible. You want to be able to hold it in your bare hand through the entire process. I plan on grinding it to a 100 this weekend, and might just use my 4.5" Hilti grinder to do it.(Going slow of course)

Well I took my old stock plate and did a little grinding tonight. Turned out pretty good. I'll be putting it in the truck tomorrow so we'll see then how good it is.
Thanks for the reply. Here is a pic of the plate.

I used a bench grinder and went really slow. As mentioned above, go slow and don't get it too hot. I made my 0 plate smooth by going over it with a diamond stone. It worked pretty well.
