97 2500 w/ 180k on it. my fuel gauge doesn't work so i'd use the odometer. i'd fill up around 400 miles. one day i ran out of fuel at 320. i filled it up and it was alright. i attributed it to my own mistake. the other day it ran out of fuel at 200, but when i filled it up it only took about 8 gallons. i was getting air in it somehow. i learned about holes getting rubbed in the lines in the in-tank module.

i've got my in-tank module out and it appears that there may be a tiny hole in one of the lines, which i can only assume is the supply line. when i stopper the bottom and blow through it, it doesn't appear that there is air coming out, so i'm a bit stumped. i'll check some more. while i'm poking around, other places to look? i've heard about the connections out the top, but it's all rather confusing. why would it run fine for a few hundred miles, and then totally lose fuel? it seems like it would have to suck an awful lot of air. this is no stumbles, just total stall. unable to turn over until i fill it back up with fuel.

you may be sucking the filter dry for a lil while, i used two part epoxy on mine. i had an actual hole were it was pouring fuel out.

i was thinking during dinner that perhaps the pinhole allowed fuel to drain while the truck was sitting for extended periods? this 12v is a new beast to me, i'm used to mercedes diesels, and even those i'm no expert with. would all fuel drain back to the tank over time if there was an air leak? would the filter stay full but hoses would drain? i don't even know where the filter is (sheesh) and don't know how well air bubbles get forced out if they're in the line.

hopefully the learning curve isn't too steep...
