Exclamation Hitch Extension Options - TC with Horse Trailer

I've got a 9.5' slide-in truck camper and need to tow my 14' horse trailer behind it. Of course the camper overhang necessitates a hitch extension. I need approximately 2' of extension.

I've seen the Superhitch reciever and extension designs but was curious what else other members have tried/liked/disliked? (i.e. other manufacturers, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

What other manufacturers? The only other receiver rated for any sizable extensions I'm aware of is the Reese Tow Beast. It uses a 2.5" drawbar instead of the doubled up 2" drawbars on the Torklift. I couldn't really say which is better than the other but the Torklift seems to be more popular. Both receivers are very beefy.

In the end, I made my own receiver and extension set up as I just couldn't justify the cost Reese and Torklift were charging and I needed a very long extension.

Is the horse trailer a 5'er or a Class IV?

I would imagine its a class IV it would be pretty hard to get a fiver in with a truck camper, you would need the 2.5" receiver for sure, my regular hitch is about 1 foot behind my bumper, so you my get away with another foot to 1 1/2 feet. good luck

I've had the Super Hitch for 7 years now and am well satisfied with it. Largest I've pulled with it - for a short distance of 50 miles with camper on - was a 30 ft travel trailer with pullout. Way over weight but truck and hitch handled it fine. Make sure you put the side chains on it.
