Hit the dyno

I ran on the dyno today and put down 492 hp and 770 tq . I am happy with those numbers , for what I have into the truck. The dyno is a trueflo. It was my first time , and now I can't wait to do it agin As soon as I can figure out how to download the graphs I'll do it.

Just what's in my sig. By the way it was a superflow dyno, not a trueflow.

That torque number seems awfully low.

I was just getting ready to say...those dynos deliver MUCH different numbers than I have traditionaly seen over the past few years...with these trucks, TQ numbers are almost always about double what the HP is give or take. I'm gonna have to try out one of those dynos

If all your running is the superchip, the torque looks right but the hp is high.

A 12 valve puts out 800 torque at 350-400 hp. Maybe those common rails run more like a gasser.

I had similar torque with HP 399 / TQ 780 was what I made on my truck before adding GDP392. Was running fuel pressure to 0 with TST on level 3. Have not ran since adding the pump. The torque stated I would think to be around 375-400 HP?

06trx,
How many pulls were made and what were the other pulls? What were some other trucks HP/TQ levels? Maybe this dyno was just off some amount? I have heard that all dynos differ in their results. I have only been on 2 different dynos and they were within 20 on both HP and TQ.

Sounds like you had fun and if this was your 1st pulls at least you have a baseline to work from. I am hoping to make some pulls this fall to see if the GDP pump gained me anything. I know it added some additional smoke on anything over 2/2 when I step on the go pedal. It never smoked as much before adding the pump.

The first 2 runs were 300 hp at 3192 rpm 493 tq at 3192 (no chip) 2nd 320hp at 3175rpm 540tq at 3091 (chip) load chip time between pulls 15 to 18 min. cool down some. 3rd 492hp at 3402rpm 773 tq at 3260rpm (with chip on perf.) 4th pull 10 to 15 sec. after that was 451hp at 3554rpm 667tq at 3483rpm All pulls were made in 4th gear. This was my first time on a dyno. I didn't know what to expect, or if the numbers I got are true or not ,but tha is what the dyno said . If these numbers don't sound right what should I do different the next time I dyno ? Jeff

To give you an idea of how far off dynos can be, I put down about 400hp on a Mustang and then about 550hp on a Dynocom...all with the same exact mods/programming and about a week or two apart.

I don't think that it's anything that YOU did wrong or anything. I just think that the dyno is different than what we are all used to seeing traditionally. As stated, dynos all read differently. I have only dyno'ed on Mustangs, but I have been told than on a dynojet, my hp numbers would be closer to 500hp/1050tq give or take...so I guess that what I'm saying is that Mustang dynos are probably the most brutally honest dynos out there...find one of those and jump on it just for a comparo between the two...
