I have an 2007 about ready for a new transmission. I plow snow with this truck, I pull heavy with this truck, and at a once a year pull down the track at the county fair. No major power upgrades. Just a boost fooler, 4 inch turbo back, and a BullyDog Triple Dog Downloader. At most maybe an additional 150 Horsepower over stock. What would be a good transmission for me to look at?

I went with a Goerend trans over the others simply because of his customer service. I know that other companys make a good transmission, but once I spoke with Dave I was sold. I had a leak from my trans pan after a couple hundred miles and Dave overnighted me another pan with all the fluid and extra filters for nothing. Sometimes it is hard to get a hold of him, but if there is ever a problem he will fix it no problem and do it extremely fast.

My goerend tranny has been flawless, just changed the filter and oil this last week, I've been doing a lot of towing with it and no suprises in the pan and still shifts like brand new, 30k miles and counting. I do like that he puts a drain plug in the TC, drop the pan change the filter drain the TC and took 14 qts to fill it back up. His service is top notch, I installed the tranny myself and bought an upgraded flexplate from him, he forgot to ship it with the trans. but overnighted it to me no charge no grumbling about it he just takes care of business.

I think any of the before mentioned transmissions are great, heard nothing but good things about Goerend. As for myself I have a Suncoast tranny and triple disk TC. I love it, shifts great and can handle all the power the Smarty puts out on SW #9. I purchased the Suncoast because I have a dealer/installer in the town that I am at. As for my opinion I think that you can't go wrong with a Goerend, Suncoast, or HTT. If the price is right and it is what you want I say go for it, you won't be disappointed.

how deep is your pockets? ats seems to have all their stuff together. My neighbors truck has the tranny as well as a few others i know and it is good stuff and handles a boat load of power. Also I like that 5yr- 500k mileage warranty. the goerend tranny is a 3year-100k but its hard to pass up the price tag on the goerend either.

I always say where are you located? That way someone can tell you the closest reputable dealer to you. I am a firm believer in a dealer that is close by. I went with DTT because Tim Barber is only a few hours a way and will help me in the event I ever had an issue. I am not a fan of being in Va and ordering a trans from Colorado no matter how good people say they are, if I have a problem I am in big trouble if I have to deal with someone far away. Lets face no matter how good the parts mechanical things can and will break. Again just my opinion but I would find a good somewhat local well known by guys on this site diesel shop and run whatever it is they build. It could save you alot of time and head ache down the road.
