:o my 94 idle at 500rpm and the new 02 idles at 825 the deaslership said there is no way to slow the 02"s idle down are they stroking me ?? after all those miles and 9 yrs the new truck just sounds like it's idle too fast to me . The dealership also said that all are set at 825rpm so as to fit both tha auto and stick shift?? thanks

I have my 93 set to 800+ RPM.. I like it better.. 500 is too low for proper oil pressure IMHO.. Factory settings are around 750 for most years excluding the electronic versions.

That is the correct idle speed, and no it can not be changed unless you get inside the ECM.

I to have the same trouble with the idle to fast. Dealer said it is 935 rpm and they can not adjust. I called cummins tech number, the guy was nice enough to try it on there simulator and he said they (cummins) should be able to set it down by using a connector under the hood that ties into the ECM on the engine. He said it will cost about a hour labor $84.00. I have'nt made the app. yet but hope to get it done before it gets icy. ???
