Is it a high flow 4"? How can I tell

Hi everyone; See if you can help we on this one.....I got this truck as signed two month,s ago. First diesel love every minute with. have been researching this site for every bit of useful info. I purchased truck at a dealer, but was able to get in contact with previous owner the truck was used just for 5th wheel towing ..15000 lbs no problem he told me that the pacbrake and 4" exhaust were put on at local truck shop but does not know make only that it was better for towing. At my dodge dealer[differant one than purchase from] the service adviser seams to think it was a package system because of the quality of the taper to connect to pipe however there are no markings on muffer smooth as a babies...... how can i tell if it's atrue highflow muffler how can i tell who's system at slow speed first 3 gears i can herar the turbo whistle thru the tailpipe, so what do ya think

I purchased a rip rook 4 inch exhaust system for my dodge, and reversed the muffler so its a little louder ;D

here is a pretty close example of what my exhaust system looks like, and the muffler doesnt have any distinguishing marks on it.... and is smooth as a babies.... 8) too!

Hey " Patriot Pearl Blue" ,darn if that doesn't look like it. So is it called a air flow system [A F S] or a rip rock do you happen to know the hp and tq improvment with just this. Thanks for responding Eric

Re:Is it a high flow 4"? How can I tell

ive got the RIP ROOK exhaust system, which looks just like that system at airflowonline..

the HP/TQ gains from upgrading to 4 inch exhaust is not that much on a bone stock truck without a horsepower box.. ,might give it close to 5 horses.. so ive been told.

the main gain is the larger exhaust system lowers EGT's [exhaust gas temperatures] when you get after it...
adding a horsepower box will raise EGT's, so when towing uphill, the larger exhaust really shines ;D

how many miles are on your truck?
seems like we have close to the same truck, extended cab 3500 HO 6speed 4x4 8)

Re:Is it a high flow 4"? How can I tell

Hey "P P B " thanks for all the info ,my truck has 25000 kms[15000] miles allmost broken in . 2 wheel drive QC flame red ,slt etc checkplate running boards and rear flaps. I've decided to go with the edge ez just the simply box 60 hp 175 tq which is why I'm posting on this exhaust ..making sure it was highflow, next move is intake ,it has the K&N oem style filter I'm not sure if that flows enough, plus all the posts against the wet filters. these cummins are starting to sound like my old harley open up the exhaust and ram in the air =more tq and roar ;D speaking of which HD on the early evo's pulled the same stunt as DC on the airbox the flow was restricted to quite the intake noise but it also restricted flow , and the cheap hopup was to remove the plate and drill more holes in the back of the box....hmmmm wonder if that would let more air into ctd airbox darn now I'm wishing I still had that hd thanks for your replys . Eric
