Hiding things from dealer
Well I am not sure if its the edge Juice protecting the tranny or maybe my tranny is in trouble. I brought it in about 1k miles for second slipping. I have the Pyro tap on it now. I didn't when I brought it in last time. But I had the intake and the High Ram. So pulling off all the edge products is easy. But what about the tap. My Dealer is pretty cool. But who wants to risk anything. Whet if I removed the tap and put a Stainless Steel bolt in with a little RTV. I could claim it was their when I bought the truck. Any thoughts and any idea idea what size bolt. I used a 1/8 pipe thread tap. Any thoughts??? Like I said my dealer is cool and they seem to make more money off of service than selling cars.

Or I could loop the wire done back toward the tranny and claim I have no idea what that wire is. I have seen my trucks service reports. It only had the oil changed once at the dealer nothing else.

If I had somebody affiliated with DC or my dealership come up to me and tell me that tapping to add gauges would void my warranty, I would laugh in their face and take them to court. Says in the owner's manual that REPLACING a specific part voids the warranty on the specific piece that you replaced and would have to be PROVEN by a tech to have caused a failure with another piece of equipment (i.e. my aftermarket exhaust be PROVEN to be the reason my motor or transmission bit the bullet) it would never happen. So for someone to try and void ANYTHING on the truck with just gauges so that you can more closely monitor what your truck is doing and HOW it's doing while, say, TOWING would be asinine. Rant Off

In my own experiences it is not what you have to hide from the dealer it's what they have to hide from you.
They should'nt trip, but everytime it is a risk, you know, the one guy working on your truck might have not gotten any the night before and just want to ruin your day by pulling that "it voids your warranty" crap.

I'll tell you what I do. I have an EGT guage in a bullet mount. It is prewired so that I can hook it up in about 15 minutes. I have the bullet mount velcroed to the steering column. I don't wire in the guage lights. That way I don't have to explain why there is a disconnected probe or hole in the manifold.
I took my 06 in for an oil leak when it was 2 weeks old. I had already installed my AFE intake and MBRP exhaust. The oil leak was on the accessory cover on the front of the motor. The tech diagnosed the problem as a bad CP3, and they called me and accused me of using box or program. I did not have a box or programmer on it, but they asssumed that since I replaced the intake and exhaust that I must have had that.
They also assumed that the CP3 can leak motor oil and that it can run up the block and onto the accessory cover...

Why don't you just try being honest? Pulling this and that off, hiding these and claiming you have no idea what those are makes one appear guilty...of something. Every one in here, you and me included knows that if you start adding "stuff" to your truck, , sooner or later DC will call you on it. Weather it is right or wrong, it is what it is.
Many people have been known to get away with murder. How?

I wouldnt worry too much, just take the juice off, leave the attitude on, its just guages. I dont think it will be a problem, there isnt anything in the warranty about guages.

Just like he said don't worry about it just take the juice off. You are getting way to worked up over nothing, the worse thing you could do is start lying to them. I know I hate being lied to especially when I know the truth.
