Cool Hey, you lucky birds - - I'm back!!!!

I KNOW - - - "I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE GONE". . . BAHHHH

What a great trip. 11,200 miles in 3 months to the day. Left June 7 heading up into Indiana, then across into Maine into Canada. Spent a week in Prince Edward Island, three weeks in Nova Scotia (Fundy Bay is amazing - - 55' tides), loaded the rig on the ferry for the 6 hour trip over to Newfoundland for 3 weeks, two weeks in New Brunswick. Then, back into the states for some time around Bar Harbor, Maine, the Chesapeake Bay area, North Carolina, then back to Florida.

The scenery in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland is outstanding. Moose visiting our campsite and leaving deposits in the far north of NF - - had to watch them in mornings and evenings when driving. Pods of whales off Nova Scotia. Lots of lobster - - yeh.

Screeched??? Well, I didn't get screeched, but they tried. I was wise to them.

The White Ghost performed magnificently. Total weight around 24,300 (Yeh, go ahead weight cops - - scream). I ran about 8,000 towing and 3,000 solo. Computer said 12. 8 for the total trip - - manual calculation said 12.9. I was pushing it 70 much of the time on the interstates so that is pretty good for a high fiver. (hey, check out the pun - - high fiver).

In spite of the several unwanted visitors to the state of Florida during our absence, all was in good shape around our house. The first one missed us by 25 miles, two others missed by 60 miles - - toooooo close. Charlie ended up dumping loads of rain and wind on us clear up in Newfoundland.

So, back home - - now I can keep tabs on Hoss and make sure he behaves. Good to be back.

I was in Bar Harbor the last week of August and kept my eyes out for a white dualie. No dice, but I did see a silver one a few times.

Welcome back.

Welcome home!

I see you managed to get back to the warm climate just in time.

I bet the fall scenery in the north east was pretty neat.

PS: Hoss paid us ALL $5 apiece not to tell on him when you got back.

Welcome back.
Ahhh, 12Pack, it was September when we hit Maine - about the second week. Leaves were just starting to turn in New Brunswick and in Maine. There were some pockets of color that were really pretty - - especially for this Florida boy where leaves stay green all year.

Glad you had a great trip! Having the right truck always makes the trip more enjoyable!
Next summer ya gotta stay home and watch the hurricanes! It was a blast. Just like any good party, we're still cleaning up!
Watch out for my ma down there. She just bought a new Sebring. She thinks she's a teenager again! I grew up in Sarasota. Or at least from 10 up. Now I'm up here in wrinkle city.

I envy you. I wish I could strike out on a 4 month trip with the truck. Must have been relaxing. Glad to know you still had a home to come home to. Take it easy man.

Welcome back, Bob. Glad the truck and RV did OK (I wouldn't have expected anything else). Sounds like you had a great trip - can't wait to retire so we can do some long-term traveling.

Time flies when your having fun eh Bob. Bet your already planing the next trip, say around hurricane season 2005. I miss the fall colors of that end of the country, maybe when we retire. I know you pack alot of fuel, but what was the highest you had to pay?
Glad the unwanted visitors didn't pay your home 20 a visit, must be that good clean livin you do.

Glad your house is good to go. You are one of the lucky ones.

Welcome back. I needed some backup for when I start taunting the snow and ice bound northerners in a month or so.
Glad to hear that you still have a house. For your next trip are you heading my way? On second thoughts, compared to to the trip you have just completed, to come my way is just a long weekend trip.
