The subject matter is Hewitt Gauges. I don't want to start a gauge war. As you all may well know (from my pushing for the ROD POD), I'm trying to assemble my gauge package. I've done searches in several other site forums about gauges and outside of a remark by Scotty about the isolated fp gauge, nothing much is being said about Hewitt gauges. I know that Wildcat Diesel sells them. Price looks reasonable or at least competitive. The pyro is apparently life-time warranted.

Does anyone have any information pro or con regarding Hewitt Gauges?? I keep hearing lottsa of little remarks about negative this and that about various manufacturers but almost absolutely nothing about Hewitt. Hey Push Rod, what do you think of them?

~Dave
Hey Push Rod, what do you think of them?

I'm of two mind sets about the Hewitt gauges. They have a great mechanism. Sensitive, without bouncing around. They tend to display some some small peaks that the other gauges I've used (IssPro, Autometer, Di-Procol) seem to miss because of dampening.

Lighting on the Hewitt boost, fuel pressure, and tranny temp is decent. The Pyro isn't as great, but still readable. But still nowhere near the quality of the IssPro EV series.

Bottom line: Less expensive than most, as reliable as any, more accurate than most, only OK lighting.

Rod

Thanks for the reply. After some serious thought I've decided to go with ISSPRO, courtesy of Wildcat Diesel. Gonna get the whole magella.

~Dave

The Dakota Digitals are nice. A little pricey though. Price for all senders, gauges, and pod, $450.
