Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has experienced a problem like this and what i should check first. Its a 03 at cc drw 4x4 with 281,500 on the clock. The truck will hesitate when you get on the throttle light or hard. Kinda lays over and barks right to life sometimes puffing a little soot. Truck has a triple dog set on tow, straight pipe and a k&n drop in with modded stock air box. It starts fine but has been hard to fire occasionally in cold weather. I realize that I'm most likely going to need injectors but would like to know if some thing else is causing the hesitation. I haven't check the fuel pressure yet either plan on looking at that this weekend. Looking for some other clues. Thanks.

could be mistaken but sounds like a dirty TPS or APPS in our cases. I drilled a tiny 1/8" hole in the back being careful to just barely go thru the case and sprayed contact cleaner in there and shook the be-jesus out of it. Blew it out with some compressed air, did that twice and haven't had any hesitation since then which was about 70-75K miles ago.

Thanks. I hope its something that easy. I wil add that to the list of things to check. Any one else have any suggestions.

bump. noticed a fluctuation at idle to. not really in rpm's more like the tone. gets kinda pingy and returns to normal.

Curious what it is cause mine is doing the same thing. Ordered up an Apps sensor, will see if that is it when I get back home.

cleaned the apps and still acting up. does anyone know how to test these. ive been searching and found the fca could cause idle fluctuation. anyone?
