Looking for some diesel knowledge. I've got the 06 5.9l 2500. One morning at start up I noticed alot of white smoke and rough idle for about a minute. The truck will do it when ever it sits for about 2hrs or so. Took it to the dealer, they reflashed for white smoke with no change. Took it t another dealer in the area, they re-flashed with a newer tsb update. Still no change.

At the same time, there has been a loud "ping" or "rattle" on the turbo side. It only really gets loud when I shift from park to drive. Or if Im going thru the neighberhood at idle speed. It really sounds like crap. Any one have any ideas that I cn come at the dealer with so they will fix it. Ive read that these symptoms are injector related.

Stick with one dealer and give them a chance to look into it. What is the mechanic telling you? Is it normal? How is your maintance?

Dealer says that Dodge is telling them just to flash it. I have two buddies with the same trucks and mine is the only one with this issue. As Far as my maintnance, I am compulsive about it.
