Question help with these codes

i am throwing codes P0238 which is turbo senser A circuit high
and code P0236 turbo senser A circut range performance

what are they and what is causing them to be thrown i have also noticed that when my pmt is set to stock i still get a bunch of black smoke if i romp it i am running 150hp sticks so i guess that might be it

P0238-MAP SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH

When Monitored:
With the ignition on and battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts.

Set Condition:
The circuit voltage to the ECM is above a calibrated threshold for a certain period of time.

Possible Causes
OTHER DTC'S
(K37) SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO BATTERY
(F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORTED TO BATTERY
MAP SENSOR
(K37) SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO SUPPLY
(F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY
INTERMITTENT
ECM


P0236-MAP SENSOR TOO HIGH TOO LONG

When Monitored:
Ignition on.

Set Condition:
The intake air pressure is above a calibrated value past a calibrated amount of time.

Possible Causes
OTHER CODES
MAP SENSOR
INTERMITTENT CONDITION


I have seen these two codes caused by plug in boxes and bad map sensors.

these codes are comming back everyday i delete them threw the pmt they stay off but when i fire the truck up the next day they are back so do i need a new map sensor to fix the problem and what effect does this have on the truck running it like this at the this time

Do you have a smoke switch installed. I've seen these codes when I got the wires crossed when installing mine.

no i dont have a smoke switch and i went to get dinner tonight and on the way home i went to romp it and the truck did nothing and i mean nothing it pedal was to the floor and the rpms went up maby 200 and the truck stat there!!!!!

also i am now throwing a p0513 incorrect immoblizer key what the hell is wrong with my truck??? i have a 2200 mile trip home comming up in a month i cant afford to be in hte middle of some podunk state stuck with a bunch of cows and hay bales

I wouldn't worry about the imobilizer key if you can clear that one and it stays away. If you can't then you probablly need your key reprogrammed at the dealership. The key thing is a common problem with the 2006 and newer trucks.

As far as the other codes it sounds like you might need a map sensor. I would definately check the connection on it and if it persists have someone look at it. The loss of power and other problems are assosiated with these DTCs. When they are active it will put the truck in a Limp Home mode and defuel it to prevent any damage from the bad sensor.

thanks bud your the man i also took the truck into the dealer today and it is the map sensor and the dealer is fixing it UNDER WARRANY i left the pmt hooked up since they already knew it was there and the service manager said they dont care about my after market parts. score one for me once again thanks bud still waitin on the tunes for the pmt
