Help
Enigne acts like it is not getting fuel, and sputters and then dies. Will restart then sputters and dies again. Any ideas what is wrong. It is a 03 cummins

Silly question, but how much fuel is in the tank? Did you perhaps fill up recently and inadvertently put some gasoline in the tank?

When my stock LP went south I never had any codes or CEL. I just couldn't hear the pump running so knew it was bad. Truck still ran fine but am just lucky I noticed it was out while it was still in the driveway.
You can verify your LP is out by removing the filter lid and cycle the key. If fuel isn't running in it's no good. If fuel isn't "gushing" into the canister the LP is on it's way out.

Lift pump, if it is on the filter canister, they are prone to fail.
You do not have to remove the filter cap, just open the drain lever on the bottom of the filter canister. You will want to put an extension on the drain hose to catch the fuel in a bottle or pail. The pump should run for about 3 seconds when the key is turned on. To get the pump to run for 30 seconds, bump the starter but do not start the engine.
If the pump moves a lot of fuel then the filter may be clogged.

Pump is on the back of the fuel filter canister. You can replace with factory and do it again in a few years, or replace for good with a Raptor or FASS or AirDog. The Mopar replacement is an in-tank pump that require dropping the tank or lifting the bed. They work well, but for the price and effort, I'd go with a Raptor 100 and not worry about dropping the tank.

I went with the Airdog 100 when I noticed my fuel pressure starting to drop at WOT. Great pressure since then and no change at WOT.

So I guess i am lost I thought that the Airdog and Fass were lift pumps and that you still needed the fuel pump to get it to there. Sorry I am not quite understanding

Consider these pumps as glorified or superior lift pumps. They take the place of your defunct lift pump. The filters that come on the Airdog allowed me to physically completely remove the OE fuel filter and lift pump. So now I have better filtration and a lot higher fuel pressure than OE.
