Help! Power steering gearbox problem!
Ok, so I installed my new PSC steering gearbox this morning(new warrantied box due to old one developing a cracked housing) and after I got it all tightened up, lines tight, I began to bleed the system.
The drag link was disconnected as I bled the system out and just kept feeding the pump fluid until it reached the cold fill line. Fluid was a little foamy as I was filling and turning the wheel lock to lock but that's what happened last time I installed the other one.
Put the drag link back on after the fluid level was to the norm. Once the drag link was back on the pitman arm, it took so much force to turn the wheel it wasn't even funny. The high pressure line and return line go only one way as they are different sizes, so they have to be on right. There is no binding anywhere as the only thing that was changed was the gearbox.
Any thoughts as to why the steering is so tight and hard to turn? Help me out guys, got to get this rig back on the road after waiting for a week to get my new box back from PSC.
Thanks, Joe

Called PSC on the issue and they said messing with the aduster bolt wouldn't make a difference, and it was probably in the valving that there has been a difference in the way it feels. They said it since it has been 2 year since I bought my last one, the one they sent me most likely had some higher valving installed over the last one.

I just installed a PSC gearbox a couple of weeks ago and mine doesn't feel like that. It's nice and stiff just like it was when I bought the truck new. I did have an issue with the first one they sent me and they had to ship me a new one.
