help me build stacks

I wanna get some stacks and want some ideas and suggestions. Is there somewhere i can get a 4" downpipe, if not where should i adapt to 4"? Then i was thinking go up through the bed and split in the bed, either that or stay on the pass side and do one LARGE stack. I wanna do this as cheaply as possible. I forget the website, but i saw one that had y splits for 4" ... and elbows and what not, and blemished stacks on ebay are pretty cheap

Hey Justin - most guys split the stacks up in the bed. Bigexhaust.com sells their systems in pieces, so you could get a downpipe from them. Since you're still stock I don't think you need to worry about that, though, it will jack the price up considerably. I'd go to 4" right before the cat, if you know what I mean. Airflow Systems has everything you need, and their prices were better when I was looking into stacking mine. Let me know when you're going to do this, I'd like to come up and help. I can bring my own Sawzall.

Check this link out. My son and I installed these. Stacks and splitter are Berubes, the remainder is off the shelf NAPA stuff.

Hey 98 2500, I just finished mine today4/02/04. I made a box across the bed out of 6x6 square tubing and ran 4in pipe and 3ft of ss flex to take up the bed and cab twist difference during bumps and torque. I went to the 18 wheeler chrome shop down from the house all together I have around $500 in all parts . 36in stacks just about 2ins above the cab.I would have to say that the stacks are alot less harsh than a straight pipe.I will also have to say YEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAA. Man, its sounds great. When you do it no matter how you go you will be for a few hours after. I can't wait to get up and drive more and here that SWEEEEEEEEEETTTTT SOUND...Sorry I don't have pics yet as soon as i do I will post.good luck. Did all work myself mostly...

I bet that square tubing flows great . Why not just take the extra 10 minutes and do it with four inch (DIAMETER) and a Y? Ive seen some pretty sorry stack setups around town and I guess I just dont understand why you would just throw something together that your gonna have to look at and claim as your own on a daily basis .
If your gonna run stacks run em right. And if you want a little challenge... Y em under the bed and run over the tank (with 4 inch of course)
Good luck and if you need some tips on how to run the 4 over the tank shoot me a Pm and Ill help ya out.

When I run stacks, I'm gonna have them y-ed under the bed. Makes for a nice, clean looking bed.

Can't see mine in the bed, the tool box and the filler piece hide everything. I pull two trailers so I don't use the bed anyway.

Yes, I bet it does. Do the math, he's got nearly 3 times the cross section with the 6" square tube. There's more than one way to skin a cat (or do stacks). I'm sure the square tube also acts as a resonator, which contributes to the sound SmokinGreenMonster speaks so highly of. I don't think you should belittle other people's ideas and workmanship without thinking.

you will be very happy with your stacks.
I would sugest looking at as many setups you possably can and take the best parts of each thats what i did and it turned out very good. another thing is weld all the joints under the bed and leave some un welded in the bed (just clamp them) so you have some adjustment and such good luck and post some pictures.

yeah but i think he is referring maybe to the change in flow, its not smooth, but rather right angles, and being as it IS a different shape and has more volume, it could cause some intereting flow charachteristics, but at out power levels, i hardly think it would matter.
I'd go to 4" right before the cat, if you know what I mean.
yeah i know what your saying, and that is probably the route i will go, especially cause its cheap and not worth any power for me.
Let me know when you're going to do this, I'd like to come up and help. I can bring my own Sawzall.
definetly come up, i'll send ya a pm when i'm gonna start it. don't worry about the sawzall i got plenty of tools

Where can i get 4" pipe?

Alot of you guys run turnouts, is there a reson for this, or just personal preference, i think im gonna go with straight miters a few inches above the cab.
