I'm not sure what I need done. She's started to sound strange and I have a good leak down the driver's side of the block. The leak has been there a while and now I think that it is getting worse. I don't have any time to work on it as I would like too, but need to get it fixed.

Lawrence is probably closest to me if Oak Grove is the only other option. I was really hoping for something closer. I'm on the west side of KC and was actually thinking about Cummins. I don't even know if their place in KC has a service shop and its probably about 45 minutes from my house.

I know that there is a shop in Merriam, but know nothing of its reputation.

Thanks for the help.

I have not worked much with the guys in Merriam either, I got a boost fooler from them for a powerstroke years ago, before I got the wise advise to go Cummins. I will ask around for you in the morning and see if anyone can reccomend someone closer. John will be back at Floor It on monday in Lawrence if you can wait a few days his # is 785-842-8545. If you need help getting a hold of him PM me.

Too bad you aren't closer, I would be glad to help you look at it, but I am in Topeka. If it's a leak down the drivers side of the block it could be a number of things, but I would venture a guess that it's diesel leaking since that's where all the lines are. Probably the return line, especially if it hasn't been replaced. Not too hard a fix, but it does take a bit of time.

For the leak, look at the fuel return line. It is at the back of the head. Many have cracked and leaked. It usually causes a hard start issue also.

I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed its not the KDP, have you check the timing cover for cracks?

Next bet like others said, fuel lines, or preheater leaking thru the electrical plug.

Next check around the injection pump, seals are known to leak oil also around the afc.

It might also be the vacuum pump or ps pump leaking, very very common.
