HELP!! Jake Brake Belt Problem

Well im to the part of reinstalling the belt on my 06' 5.9. Everythings went pretty easy up to this part.
The directions are weak at best for the install of the new belt. It doesn't show all the idlers and show things the way they really are on the truck. I got the belt on that came with the kit but it seems to long. And the way it shows going over the tensioner idler looks wrong.
I'm pretty fustrated rite now so I thought it best to take a break for awhile and drink a beer.

HELP!!!!!!!!! This fun has stop. I need to drive this thing to work tomorrow.

I have a PDF of the install and belt routing looks fairly simple. Also, if you have a problem, you can always install the old belt without the vacuum pump.

I assume you have AC, if you don't then the belt will be too long.

There should be total of 9 pulleys.

If you want I can e-mail you the PDF

I do have the Installation Manual, and it has a belt diagram...page 12 fig 12a. But is sure is a pain to understand. If you have something differnet I'd like to see it. Thanks a lot for the help.

Let see what these 2 beers do.....maybe I'll be a little more patient this time

I got it. Well.......to tell the truth, the wife walks up, looks at the diagram, and says "Sweety don't you need to be over this little pully here too".

2 minutes later It was done. Dammmmmmmmm she saved me again.

OK 1 more beer and I'll start the wireing.

Honey..........can you help me one more time

Thats rite out of the parts manual Tree DR.

It's done, and I can't say it was a real fun weekend, the installation manual is a little weak.
But for the most part it was a easy install. I got a bumm knee so climbing around, up and over the truck was the worst part. So it really wasn't all that bad.
It took about 4hrs on Sat. and 6-7hrs today. A fit guy with some help and a nice shop could do it in 4-5hrs.
It works great as is, I can't wait to hook the trailer up and try it out in the hills.

And yes the belt was the worst part of the whole install. Once you get that done.....It is all down hill from there.

Cost of the belt is one of the major reasons I went with the PacBrake. Also have seen postings on the vacum pump rupturing the diaphram.

I took the easy way out and parted with a bit more money for my EB, I paid for the install.

You will definitely LOVE the way it works the first time you hit a hill with the trailer. My EB says to use it any time that you can and I do. It really makes a difference in how much you need to touch the brake pedal.

The PXRB is great, it comes with an electric compressor rather than a vacuum pump so there is no need for the extra costly belt and it will do light duty air work. It even works with the cruise control.

When I did mine an extra set of hands would have been helpful when trying to get everything lined and the "V" clamps back on. It's kind of hard to align the break, squeeze the exhaust back together, slip the clamp on then tighten it with only two hands!
