Help getting best deal on a 2007 5.9
Guys
I live in Northern Virginia and am interested in purchasing a new 2500 with the 5.9 diesel engine, quad cab, auto, 4wd. I've been reading posts for the past several months relating to MSRP and what you all have actually been paying. Some of the better deals that I have seen posted appear to be 10,500 off MSRP.
Well this evening I went to the local dealer and test drove my dream truck. It was awesome, everthing that I had hoped for. The truck has been sitting on the lot since last August, so I figured they would be ready to deal. It MSRPs for $42,950. I sat down with the sales guy and offered him $32,450 and he pretty much laughed and said I was dreaming. We went back and forth and his last offer before I left was 34,400.
So bottom line he is offering 8,500 off MSRP. He did want the chance to match any written offer that I could get from other dealers, so I know he could go lower.
So what do you guys think? Could you give me the name of some dealers that I might be able to work with to get the 10,500 off MSRP that I was hoping for, or am I dreaming and should just accept his offer? I would be willing to buy in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia. Once I go further than that, the money I might save seems not be worth it.
Thanks

Do not jump on that offer. You can do a lot better. You've got a greedy salesman on your hands and he somehow senses this is your "dream truck". I'd walk away and say "thanks but no thanks I'll find another truck". If he wants to deal thats his chance if not walk away. Its not your loss. My truck (see sig) stickered for $42,600 and I ended up getting it for it for $9,200 or so under back in November. Yeah the 5.9s are getting a little thinner but they arent SO scarce that I'd be overpaying for one..

Check out Steve White Motors. they are are in North Carolina. They have some pretty good deals. Also look on Ebay at the "Buy it Now' prices. some of those are dirt cheap. That what I did and I got $10,500 off sticker for mine.

dang 11K off on a 6.7 that is great.
I got mine for 10K off.. Pretty much exactly what i told him was "everyone is doing 10,500 off... you have to make money so 10 grand off or I'll go some place else". He knew I wasn't BS'in and it took him a few seconds to say ok.
I got it for 34700 + tax and 35000 was my budget and I got a lot more than I wanted but I'm happy with the laramie.

I think that's a pretty good price. I got mine on E-Bay and got a Laramie Dually for less that I would have paid for a Sport SRW here in NOVA. Plus the dealer in NC gave me $2000 more for my 03 trade-in. The salesperson was SUPER hot too!!!! Well worth the 6 hour drive.......

I purchased an '07 3500 srw w/ the Big Horn Package and 5.9 in January. It was listed at $42,700 w/o any dealer mark up. I purchased it for $34,400 out the door. Check w/ Dave Smith Dodge in Kellog, Idaho(they ship all over the US), or Bill Gaffke at JC Billion in Bozeman, Mt.(406-582-7777). Remember that all Dodge Diesels took a $3500 jump in price during the summer of 2006. My buddy bought an '06 3500 dually w/ the Laramine pkg(fully loaded) in June 06 for almost the same price I paid for my lesser loaded 07. I bought the truck for the 5.9 motor, I love the truck.
