Help with decision, turbo-clutch-injectors
I need some help from the people who know
Based on the setup in my signature, which is the next logical upgrade, assuming nothing breaks soon? I am hoping to end up in the 400-450HP range. Would mild injectors, like 100HP, be a waste without a turbo as well, or possible as a single upgrade? If not would the opposite be true? Would a turbo for the HP range I want to be in be of much use in my current set up?
Sorry, this is a long one, or should a HD clutch the the next upgrade? I really have no idea about what HP and torque I am at right now(ball park figures?) . I appreciate the help. Scott

With just a Puck for power, you're probably in the 250-260 RWHP range.
I'm running 150hp injectors withthe stock turbo and a power enhancer that's similar to your Puck in hp. It takes some discipline to watch EGTs, and it's not a very tow-friendly rig, but it's been over a year now and it's worked very well.
Clutch should be matched to HP level. If you want 400-450hp, the South Bend Con OFE is a great clutch-- very smooth and plenty tough.
I went with the FE because I had hopes of exceeding the OFE's power rating, but so far that hasn't happened
There are lot of turbos out there that will work very well both at your current power level, and the 450hp range you are shooting for.
Injectors in the 100hp range will work very well with your stock turbo, though if you add a fueling box you will get very hot under load.
100hp injectors will put you right around 350hp, and that's the real-world limit of the stock turbo.

You can also look at the ValAir clutches, awesome quality and a lot less expensive than SBC. Myself and Rick along with a bunch of other people have had very good luck with ours and get great support from Dan.

You definately need a clutch before more power or you will have to buy both within a month of adding more power. I've burned up two aftermarket semi-performance clutches, I like my ValAir. If you want 400-450, I'd get an HTBG turbo. It has a 58mm compressor wheel and spools fast so I hear. 450 would be hot with this turbo but daily driving would be a blast! Or if you want more cooling/ ability to tow more weight at higher power, get a 62/12 from your favorite seller. Injectors are a hot topic these days. Jammer injectors are cheap, but they still make power. For 450, you would want Jammer 4's, HTBG or 62/12, Some sort of fueling box, edge comp, Quadzilla box, TST, Blue Chip, and an OFE clutch. Limit boost to 40ish psi or you will need head studs and or orings.
