Okay I have two questions,

1.) I am thinking of getting the brite-box for my 4.5 dually, what I am not sure of is if this will effect the stock wiring harness by overheating or melting ??? Does anyone have any experience with these ?? I have silverstars in the headlamps right now.


2.) My truck does not have fog lamps from the factory, just the openings. I am wanting to install some driving lights in those openings, just wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this and what lights they chose to install ?? I am thinking I can get some good driving lights and install them cheaper than I can buy the brite box.

Get the Brite Box, I installed on my 03 and it made all the difference in the world. I also added Sylvania SilverStar bulbs. With that combo you don't need fog lights!!!

That does not answer the question. Did you do anything to the wiring harness? I heard that you need 2 brite box`s on these 3rd gens. is that true? How hard is the install?

The Brite Box comes with all the correct wiring harness's to make it a plug and play item. Installation is as easy as removing the headlight assemblies, cleaning a spot to stick the box (yes the 03 and up require 2 and both are provided in one kit.) and pluging the correct plugins in, replace the headlight assemblies and you are in business. An easy way to see if it will be bright enough for you is when you are going from low beam to high beam just pull the lever back far enough to illuminate both the highs and lows and that is what you will see with the Brite Box installed.

i went to that site and i couldnt find a price, any ides on the price for a 04.5 dodge with fogs?????

They have them at Geno's for $149 but i called and it doesn't control the foglights. They are $249 i think from Bakers that do control them, for those of you with them already i believe you can send them back for like $50 and they will make them do the fog's too.

So on low beams the brite box does nothing?

Gary that is correct. But to see what it will actually look like pull your lever back to where the high and low beams are both on and that will show you how bright it is going to be with them on high. Also if you have fog lights you may have to pull it all the way back and release and then do it again but watch your fog light indicator and if it stays on that will show you what the difference will be in paying for the fog light control model SD7+FLC. Hope this helps.

Thanks I have done the pull back deal and I can see, huge differance,,,,,, Had HIDs in the H2 looked and worked great but they cost alot and a major pain...

BTW, traded the H2 for the Ram,,, much happier now.

So basically the brite box allows both elements on at once and the fogs as a option.
So when driving at night is everyone flashing you because you have both
on at once ?
Can you still use your low beam or hi beams if you want with the brite
box installed. ???

your low beams will be the same...when you click to your high beams they both will stay on...then when you click back to low beams it will be back to just low....all it does is keep the low beams on when you switch to high...

it is totally plug and play...on the older ones it only plugs into one light, and controls both...

The 03-04 trucks are set up with a dual headlight system; each side works independently, so the kit comes with two boxes...

there is a wire, on the box, with a pigtail that needs to be connected to the positive of one of your batteries...if your in a 03-04 truck you will have two wires to connect..
