HELP! where is the block heater cord stowed?

Hey guys. first time I decided to need to run the rig in such cold weather.

I've searched for the cord in single digit temps until I couldnt feel my fingers anymore and decided to give yas a try in where I should look first.

Thanks.

passenger side front corner should be just long enough to hang out on the bumper .. I don't know what year DC started doing this but they made the block heater an option just another way to save money llike the rear inner fender wells ...

If you do indeed have the cord, check in and around the passenger side headlight.

Pretty sure the 03's came with the cord, DC didn't make it an option till the '04's.

All Cummins in Dodges come with the block heater, just the latest 3rd gen's don't come with the cord unless you specifically order it.

If you did get one without the cord, stay away from Dodge, get it from Cummins, much much cheaper.

Or on the block kinda behind the oil filter (in that area somewhere), is where your heater is. If it has a cord follow it back. If not go get one from a cummins distributor. They are much cheaper there.

Open the hood before you start looking near the passenger headlight. The cord is tucked away when it arrives from the factory and having the hood open will help. When you find it and release it, it will just barely make it halfway to the front of the bumper.

paid $11 and change at my local cummins dealer. A nuisance to install. I had to take the intake tube off and grease the rubber with some die electric grease to get er in.. ran it down to the frame rail and up to the altenator bracket. had some extra cord so i ran it over to the pass. foglight hole. Too Bad there is no outlet on the outside of my apt. building....
wonder if i asked nice if they would put one in.

Thanks guys

I know I saw it under there the one day.

Some jostled a neuro synapse and I think it is behind my passenger side headlight (IIRC).

Mine has the block heater and cord. I know that.

(or am I thinking of my former Chubby diesel???)

Go to the Tech Facts section of this site. Then click on the 24v 3rd generation category, and there's a whole description of the block heater there for you that should answer all your questions. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1

Maybe it's just me, but I have to open my hood EVERY time I plug in or unplug. Opening the hood is the ONLY way to find it.
