Get a fuse tap and insert it into a fuse that has key on power i.e. stereo or something similar. then connect the wire to the fuse tap.

airdog 100 install

Well i got most of the install done, now it seems i have a issue with connecting to the quick connect fitting at the fuel tank.i did not receive any type of quick connect fittings as the kit was for a 2005-09.they have a tank fitting and draw straw.can i just splice into the existing fuel line instead or i think i should be able to buy a quick connect fuel fitting locally here.Tomorrow i will try and sort out the harness.

What you need is the dorman fitting. Dont think your are going to find that locally, good luck thou. If you search the net, for dorman fitting, you will see what it looks like. Stuff always goes bad when have plans or a rush, can you leave the fuel pump till you get back? I know thats not the point, but is the stock pump still working?

We see this every once in awhile because half the 04.5 trucks have in tank pumps and the other half have block mounted pumps requiring different fittings and wiring harnesses.

I have a new harness heading your way and am hopeful you will be able to find a Dorman fitting near you so you can go hunting tomorrow

AD 100 hard start!

Well with the new AD100 installed it seems to crank over a few times before starting.Definitely not the same as stock. Also the idle fluctuates any ideas what this could be?? I di leave the key in the on position for a few seconds to enable the pump to work.Does anyone think plumbing the AD100 through the stock lift pump and filter is reducing flow?? i don't have gauges yet.

if you have the stock pump that is mounted in the engine bay...I would bypass it. Have seen a few installs where the pump had issues passing fuel due to internal issues. Should not be hard to bypass. Get a couple fittings from glacierdieselpower.com and some tubing and bypass the filter and pump, go straight to the injection pump.

Exclamation

Shakinred ctd: That is exactly what i did today!!my truck died in the driveway, very hard to restart.i removed the fuel line at the injection pump and ran the AD, very little fuel flowing to the injection pump.Decided to bypass the stock lift pump assembly completely and ran it straight to the cp3.i bled the system before tightening the fitting and WOW was there fuel now flowing. What is the restriction in the stock lift pump/canister.i wanted to use the fuel heater that is the only reason for running through the lift pump.

If I remember right the stock pump uses a set of cogs to move the fuel. If the pump is not running then the fuel has to "find" its way through the pump.

Well after a week of deer hunting and 3 tanks of diesel, driving over the roughest roads and trails i can tell you i had no issues.the system now works flawlessly.the only issue i have seems to be fuel seepage from the old fuel canister.lift pump i say this because i can smell fuel and with all the dusty conditions i was driving in,you can see wet spots around the stock canister.i do plan on removing them both next week. i did remove the fuel lilter and drained the canister.any thoughts on this

Bypass the on block liftpump. I ran my Air Dog 100 through the stock filter housing for water stripping ability and the fuel heater. Pics are in my sig.
