Hello there,
First post on the site. Unfortunately i found the forums while researching a couple problems with the truck but with all the information on this site i will have the *********** in the palm of my hands.
My truck is an 07 Ram 3500 dually. I bought her new in 07 and use it as a rig welding truck for work and pulling.

Hey Jordan, welcome to the world of DTR. It is a great place to learn what makes your truck tick.
Me and a few buddies come up through Sask every summer to go fishing. We go into Missinippe and fly out on a float plane to a lake for a week. Great time and I always enjoy the trip and people up there. We tend to consume many gallons of fuel and Brewskis!
If you need a little help on your truck, this is the place to start looking!

Hey all you Sask guys. When we come up there fishing every summer, we hammer down pretty hard trying to get up past La Ronge. A couple of years ago it turned into a convoy with me, my buddy in his 07 and a guy in a Beemer doing the Cannonball run from Prince Albert to La Ronge. I have since heard that a speeding ticket can be pretty severe in Canada. Can you guys shed any light on any previous experience getting caught above the posted speed?

Speeding up here can get expensive VERY quick. I believe the ticketing is as follows.
If the vehicle is traveling 0 – 30 km/h over the posted limit, the fine is $70 plus $1 for every km/h over the limit. There is also a Victim Surcharge of $30 if the total cost of the ticket is less than $100. (Victim surcharges also apply when speeding through school and playground zones)
So, let’s say the posted limit is 110 km/h and your caught at 125 km/h; The cost of the ticket would require some mathematical calculations. First of all, 125 km/h is 15km/h over the limit. The base ticket rate is $70, plus $1 for each km/h over ($15). This brings the total amount of the ticket to $85. Since this is less than $100, the Victim Surcharge would be applied, summing up the total fine to $115.
RCMP officers need to do this math quickly, while you're standing there. They also need to be very accurate. The above rate is not the only rate officers need to know. If a vehicle is traveling 31 – 50 km/h over the limit, the fine is $70 plus $2 for every km/h over the posted limit. There is also a $40 Victim Surcharge, regardless of the total amount of the ticket. If a vehicle is traveling 51+ km/h over the speed limit, then the fine is $140 plus $4 for every km/h over the limit. There is also a Victim Surcharge of $40 (if the ticket is less than $200) or $50 (if the ticket is more than $200).
Not only that, but if you are clocked at more than twice the posted speed limit, the officer has the option to immediately impound your vehicle and charge you with Dangerous Driving
a criminal code offence and many times - a tough one to beat.
This is important to know, especially the next time you're blasting through a school zone (30 km/h) doing 61+.
In the past few years alone, they've introduced some new laws such as 60 km/h speed limits while passing emergency personnel. If you are passing emergency vehicles (Fire, Police, Ambulance, & Tow Trucks) faster than 60 kilometers an hour, it'll cost you big-time. Generally speaking, doing this is the worst and most costly speeding ticket the average Saskatchewan motorist will get.

This is the most response I have seen from the Sask group in a long time. Way to go guys!!!

RTillery, klx was pretty close on everything. I go to Besnard Lake which turns off about 50 kms south of LaRonge. Once past Waskiesiu (sp) up to LaRonge it is pretty well hammer down. 120 kph will attract the attention of the Queen's Cowboy's (RCMP). 115 you are pretty much safe except for someone with a bad day. 110 is 10 above posted speed and is what I usually travel with 5ver and boat in tow and will never get you in trouble. I have traffic blow by me doing over 120 and seldom if ever see them stopped. Up there it is mostly be safe and be careful. What lake do you fly into?

I am in Hooterville, I mean Regina. I know of several other non internet folks in the Oungre/Estevan/Weyburn area. Some of their trucks have over 600K on the clock...oldest one is an 06!

Thanks for the speeding info guys. We'll try to keep a lighter foot up through there. They are getting kind of brutal down here in the states too. All the states are broke from overspending and they have the boys in blue out "generating revenue" and justifying there jobs.
We fly out of Missinippe on one of Osprey Wings planes to MacPherson Lake. It is about 70 miles north and west up toward Lower Foster Lake. I have a customer who has a cousin who has a nice private lodge and it is the only cabin on the lake. He lets us use it for nothing just to help keep the place maintained. It is the best deal of my life! I have put 12,000 miles on my truck just going back and forth up there.
