What the heck???
I don't know what I've done, but it must have been something bad ... lately, my luck is out the window!
While driving (a couple of weeks ago), with OD off at approx. 40 mph, I had a stutter, almost like a gas vehicle missing. The truck did this a couple of times and has not repeated it yet ... until today. I had just refueled and was pulling onto the freeway, when the truck started to stutter again. This time it felt like it was running out of fuel. It would accelerate, then felt like it was going to stall. I got off the freeway on the next off ramp and, by that time, the stutter had gone. I got back on the freeway and drove to my destination without any problem. Since then, I've driven the truck about 50 miles and have not had any further problem. The truck was warm when it did this, both times.
I posted this info a couple of weeks ago and didn't get much response. Hopefully, someone knows what the heck this is.
BTW: Stopped in at the local Dodge dealer today and looked at the new Mega Cab. My wife wants me to have one ... I wonder what she's after?

Did you pull codes on the truck? Could be LP or that dang VP44. Thats the first place I would start looking. You have a FP guage you must have pressure?

I tried pulling codes and didn't get any. Fuel pressure is 14 at idle and 12 at cruise, can't pull it under 11 at WOT. In another post, I towed and was having problems with power. I could only make about 18 psi on hills. After replacing my air filter and checking battery connections, I was able to get it to bounce off 20 psi (unloaded), but only for a second. I was hoping it was injector related.

Something simple as a loose or dirty connection somewhere?
I would separate all connection and check them for corrosion/dirt re-grease them and re-connect them.
Kinda sound like my chasing the ABS/BRAKE light problem. Turned out ot be a dirty connection...
Your going to have to check those code Phox... It's going to have a clue for us...

I'm not familiar with the second gens at all, but symptoms are similar to when my buddy lost the cps in is 7.3 'stroke.
Good luck

I had the codes pulled using a scanner at Autozone ... nothing! As for chasing wires; where do I start? I don't have any smoke and didn't see any fluctuation on any of my gauges when this happened. It's an intermittent problem, so I know its going to be a bear to pinpoint. Is there a way to check the CPS? I should have noticed a change in RPM's if that was the problem, right? I'm at a loss!

I pulled the IAT sensor and cleaned it. It only had a light film of soot, not what I was expecting for 130k. I recently cleaned and checked my battery connections. I checked the output of the alternator and got 14.34 volts. At the batteries I got 14.27 volts. Is this normal?

Filter is new. Other than when she stutters, which is very rare, she runs really well. The boost issue has been plaguing me for some time now, so has the lockup in the trans, but the noise filter should take care of the trans issue. What parts would I need to check the system for boost leaks? How would I go about testing the system? Is there an old post describing the method?

Well if it is like mine you might want to sit down...
My LP was going and somehow sucking a little air. caused some sputters that cleared themself up so I happily went about my life. UNTIL LAST WEEK. all of a sudden in the middle of the morning commute it went down to idle and stuttered and rumbled when I tried anything with the go pedal. tow truck, 3 days, and $3086 later new LP and IP.
If I had listened to these forums I would have bought a new LP early and shopped for the injector pump. the doggie doo dealer charged me $2100 for the same part I could have bought online for $1099.
Now I'm ready though, lotsa new gauges and a 1990 Wrangler so I can take her off the road while I do the work myself
