heater / ac switch removal

what is the easiest way to get the switch panel out , the fan switch is intermittent on A/c , work in 2 high fan speeds but not in 2 low fan speeds sometimes & occaisionaly will not turn on a/c when the button is pushed. I tried search but nothing came up , I suspect I will be removing most of the dash

i just changed mine start at the cup holder remove the rubber and then the screws in the bottom of it.
after you pull it out of the way remove two screws under the lip of the dash and pull it out remove the screws on the radio trim pannel and remove it that exposses the screws for the hvac pannel.

hope this helps once you start looking the svrews are visable

I am going to guess yours was an automatic ?
Mine is a 6 spd , did you have to remove the glove box & panel below the column to release the lower center panel ?

The not working on 2 speeds is more then likely due to the resistor pack being bad. When they first start to go you loose a couple of speeds, then you only have the highest setting.

yeah , I just tested all the switches & everything seems to be working ok . Where is the resistor pack on the heater box ? accessable without removing the dash ??
I am not sure why the AC worked great on monday even on the low fan speed settings & now is not blowing cold at all , the compressor is kicking in OK , no damage to the condenser or lines that I can see ?? It just seems to be intermittent , sometimes the fan works on low speed & most of the time the A/C works & then it stops randomly
