Heated Mirror Repair

First my right mirror heater quit working last winter. This winter the drivers side quit. Any one know how to trouble shoot them or fix them or is it when there done ther done? Can't see replacing the whole mirror just because of the heater but that was kinda nice not having to scrape them.

Could anybody tell me what fuse runs the heated mirrors? Is it on the same circut that runs the power movement feature cause that still works?

From what I have heard, you can just buy an aftermarket heating element, pry the glass off the mirror, peel the old one off, and stick the new one on. If this isn't clear, I'll give you the name of the guy to talk to, he is on another site.

So you don't have to replace the mirror?

Is there a trick to prying off the glass (heatgun?) or just hope for the best? And where do we get replacement after market heaters?
Thanks
John

I'll PM the guy on the other site right now, probably be able to give you instructions tonight. He said it was easy.

Any one know of a way to fix a towing mirror (2003 diesel 2500) that was pushed forward and broke it's pin to keep it in the correct place? Thanks!
