I know you can get ticketed for being too bright but these stock lights (non-sport) are the worst lights I have ever seen on a vehicle. It's a miracle they are bright enough to pass DOT standards. My 1954 Ford tractor is brighter with stock lights!

I put in the sylvania bright ones, an improvement over stock. Only problem is with the D25 coils in the front , the lights are pointed higher than they should, and the tiny torx heads stripped,

Any ideas on adjusting without breaking them off?

Yeah... me too! I have been looking at the ebay deals... I have looked at the projector deals with a halo and led's and can't get an answer as what bulbs they use? And what turns on the leds and halo? Any experience with them... anyone? I also looking at some conventional ones that are black with a chrome reflector? I don't want to rewire and understand the benefits of relays for more voltage. Who has installed any of these lights? Where are the sport lights available besides the dealer? Thanks, Artie

My wife is complaining about the lights in mine too. I was thinking of doing the 'relay mod' then if that is no better getting the projector lights from K2. I was on the Jeg's website looking for ATV stuff and stumbled across this relay kit for the GM. Does anyone know if it will work on the Dodge? RELAY KIT

You would think that for over $30,000.00, it would come with headlights that work. I ain't payin' for no HIDs.

I replaced the headlights with Sylvania Blues for a marginal improvement. I think the 2nd gen. headlights are compatible with any other truck of that period. I bought 3M headlight clear covers for my '99 when new and they never developed "cataracts" It's just tougher for me to drive at night anymore.

i've done the headlight mod and use sylvania silverstars i have seen some improvement, enough i felt like it was worth the time and money to do the mod. not familiar with any of the other conversions mentioned. you can find 9004 silverstars on ebay much cheaper than at the autoparts store. if you don't want to do the wiring yourself summit has a plug and play kit, maybe some sponsers here also offer it

What Ive heard its H1 Lo´s and 9005 hi´s, but I´m not shure....yet!
I have ordered a pair thats not delivered yet. I can tell you when they arrive.
Led´s and halos should be separate wires so you could wire them to the P-light.
I´ve also ordered a set of cheapo china HID conversion set for the lo´s. Just got it delivered. maybe it breaks after 3 month, or not..... we´ll see.
If it works well I´ll get another set for the Hi´s and a Britebox from Geno´s.
It´s still not as much as a set of OEMSportlights from the dealer here in Sweden.
If it all works out, I think its going to be a killercombo!

The the lower Torx head adjusters are available from Dodge separately. Most dealers won't tell you that. They keep a little book of unlisted part numbers for special occasions. If your dealer won't order them for you, find another dealer because you don't have to buy the whole headlight assembly. I saved both the receipt and the package with part numbers that they came in, but as luck would have it, I seemed to have misplaced it. I'm still looking and I'll post the PN as soon as I find it. I switched Dodge dealers because of this so I can always call the parts counter back. But, I can tell you that my new torx heads work great

I also put the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs in my truck. They worked great in my 97 Subaru Outback and then my 98 Audi wagon - awesome in fact. But they just plain suck in the truck. I went back and got a different set. Same problem. I have lowered the low beams to foglight status but the high beams just hit the trees way ahead and diffuse past the point of the lighted area I need to see. Seems to me that Sylvania got it wrong and put the 45W in the high beams and 65W in the low beams. My lows are great but the highs are inexcusable. They are especially useless in rain. I've tried the 80w/100w bulbs. Don't waste your money.

I'm not sure the relay mod will do much for me. My truck has a plow so the wiring mod for that is giving me 13.8-14 volts to my existing headlights. The best lighting for me is when I hold the high beam lever so that both highs and lows are on. The wiring mod to keep the lows on I will make. But, I'm opting for a set of sport headlights if I can afford it. Like others have said, the stock lights in this truck are the worst I have ever experienced in 45 years of car ownership. My old 55 Merc 6-volt headlights were better by far. In my 98 Ford F-150 the stock lights are great. In my 02 Suburban the stock lights are even better. I have no need to upgrade the headlights in either one. Different story with the Dodge. I don't fool with safety equipment on any vehicle and I can't believe Dodge could compromise safety so much for so many years and get away with it. There is no excuse for poor headlight design and then getting away with for 10+ years and no matter how much wattage you apply, if they don't point right, it won't help a bit.
