Headlight problems

We installed Hipro Power headlights in my son's 97 last night and of course ran into a couple of problems.

1. The park/turn light would not go in on the drivers side. Since the socket has the wires at 90 degrees to the bulb it hits the side of the headlight assembly. Is there a socket where the wires come straight out the back?

2. The high beam indicator light stays on all the time. The stock headlights had one bulb per side and the new headlights have two bulbs per side. The new headlights have a projector and hid light. On what I assume is low, the projector light is on and puts out good light. When the high beams are turned on, both lights come on but are very dim. Could the wires be crossed? Would a brite box help?

I did wire the halo and led lights to a switched hot wire so that they are on whenever the switch is on and looks pretty good. I will try to get some pictures tonight which may help if the above description does not make sense.

You have to switch the wires in the headlight plug around. Your truck should have originally had a 9004 bulb, and the headlight plug for the new lights is set up for, I believe, a 9007. The difference is basically that the ground moves from one of the sides to the center, or the other way around, I don't remember. Look at the back of the headlight plug, pull out the seal, then you can look in and see how the plugs are seated and locked into the housing. Take a very small screwdriver or something that fits and bend the prongs down so you can pull the plugs out the back. Then move them to their new positions, bend the prong back out a little and slip them back in until they click. Once all three are done put the seal back in. It's really not very hard.
