Head light ? Bulbs...

Has any one put SilverStar bulbs (or something simmilar) in their 06 trucks. I would like to get the bluish-white lights that have the look of the HID's and are brighter than stock but I don't want to spend the cash for true HIDs. I had put SilverStars in my 04 and they worked great but the new head lights on the 06 and up are different and was wondering if any one could shed some light on the subject for me (pun intended). Thanks for any help. I would like to change out both the head lights and the fog lamps to match if possible.

used silverstars on my 2nd gen- worked great but blew constantly, and replacing them got old fast.

have PIAA's on this truck- a little more cash, but work well and have lasted.

I found a set on ebay for $68.99 with free shipping. I thought the price was too good to be true, but after researching lights and companies for 4 hours the other night I decided to give them a tryo. The kits came with everything needed to keep the lamp out light out and keep the lights from flickering. For '06 and newer they have a relay harness to fix the issues, and for my '05 (9007) with the '06 front clip (H13) they use a wiring harness with a capacitor inline. They also sent the capacitor harness for my fogs(h7) in my fab four bumper. Install was really easy straight forward and carries a warranty as well.

I ran piaa bulbes, silverstars, and some chinese bulbs. Out of all those the chinese ones lasted the longest and had best light. I got sick of burning out lamps and decided it should be cheaper in the long run if I just switch over to HIDs.

Thanks guys!
So your saying I can go full HID for like 70 bucks then?
I'd have that in to two sets of silver stars. sounds like a no brainer to me. I'll be looking for the HID's then.
That is for the head lights and the fog lamps??

Aren't aftermarket HID's asking to be pulled over by police since the reflectors in the headlight housing is made for a halogen bulb and the HID light just splashes everywhere instead of being directed?

I use the Piaa extreme white bulbs, they work very well and I've had them for awhile.

Truthfully visibility is the sme for mine til the brites come on, then they're much better and brighter. Thing is I can't stand the ugly faded yellow color of regular bulbs, with my truck being blue the Piaas fit in better than the yellows.

I'm running Silverstar Ultras on my Dodge and regular SS on everything else and couldn't be happier. The Ultras are alittle brighter and are just right for running down the dark Texas highway at night.

The owners manual calls for 9007 QT on my 05 Ram. If I get the Silverstar Ultras do I need order the 9007 QT or just the 9007 replacement bulb?
